Email Operations Strategist

Blue Moon Works, Inc. is seeking an Email Operations Strategist to be a part of our growing online marketing agency. The Email Operations Strategist will be responsible for the development, implementation and execution of segmented email strategies for our global client base in order to maximize ROI and support our client's business strategies.

This Strategist will work with the Director of Digital Marketing to execute our client's email programs. Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, which will require the ability to analyze data from conceptualization to presentation. This position requires proficiency with Email Service Providers, solid working knowledge email strategies, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Denver, CO.

Qualifications / Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong, proven writing skills
  • Excellent client management skills; confidence in meeting with clients to present email program progress and concepts for discussion
  • Ensure all client email programs comply with current CAN-SPAM and other email legislation
  • Develop and launch email campaigns, including (but not limited to) trigger-based and re-contact email campaigns
  • Execute and code web-services-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Work with internal and external IT resources to ensure essential technical steps are taken for proper email program setup and integration
  • Continually audit of existing client email creative and implement steps to ensure a consistent look and feel for our clients' email programs
  • Work with clients to coordinate their email schedule in order to create the best email experience for the subscriber
  • Track weekly performance for all core emails and publish weekly client-facing reports. Issue comprehensive email reports outlining key stats, trends, etc.
  • Design and execute email testing scenarios; direct the execution, analyze the effectiveness, communicate findings, and recommend/implement strategies based on the results
  • Develop and refine email creative in line with client brand standards, web/print creative and other current marketing campaigns
  • Identify opportunities to drive conversions with email by researching collecting, and analyzing data
  • Employ RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) segmentation techniques which maximizes customer Long Term Value
  • Ensure our client's email files are properly maintained: Opt-In, Opt-out updates, ECOA, etc.
The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Three to four years related experience and/or training in direct marketing
  • Experience working with integrated email marketing platforms and subscriber lifecycle messaging
  • Experience with Omniture, Google Analytics and Coremetrics web analytics programs
  • Experience with ExactTarget, CheetahMail and/or Responsys email platforms a plus
  • A strong working knowledge of HTML
  • Experience defining API's and designing gateways that will be used by the client and their email service providers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Marketing, Business or related field
